The Season of Giving

The holiday season is time of giving and reflection, inspiring many to reach out to those who are in need. Your gifts of time, in-kind donations and financial support are vital to our mission at Joseph’s Home to guide our residents on a path toward a healthy, self-sustainable life. As you celebrate this holiday season, please consider the ways in which you can make a difference in the lives our men.

In-Kind Gifts – Each new resident at Joseph’s Home receives a Welcome Package to help them get settled and, then, once successfully discharged, receive a Care Kit to help him establish his new home. Our Holiday Wish List includes: winter coats, sweatshirts, sweatpants, travel size toiletries and hygiene products, new socks, new underwear, winter gloves, hats and scarves, twin-size sheets, blankets and pillows. Donations can be dropped off during our normal business house Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drop off outside of normal house can be arrange by contacting us at 216.987.9201. Click HERE to see our complete list of in-kind donation items.

Meals – Because our facility is small and we only need 12 meals, Joseph’s Home is an ideal opportunity for families, friends, co-workers and church groups to share a meal with those in need. Our residents, in particular, love when families and groups bring their children because they bring energy and excitement to our home. If you are interested in donating a meal, contact Development Director Madeline Wallace at 216.987.9201.

Cash Donations Your contribution of any amount will help to provide safe shelter, nourishing meals, nursing care, transportation to medical appointments, and a wide range of social services tailored to the unique needs of each resident. Click HERE to make an online donation. To donate by phone, contact Madeline Wallace at 216.897.9201. To donate by mail, send your check payable to Joseph’s Home to 2412 Community College Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115.

Give A Gift On Someone’s Behalf – Do you have a friend or family member that you just do not know what to buy for Christmas? What a better way to honor someone than helping our men secure a healthy life and stable housing. Celebrate your loved one with a donation in their name by following the donation instructions above and include the name in which the gift is being made. Particularly during the holiday season, tribute gifts in remembrance of someone you loved are a wonderful way to celebrate their life.

Gift Card Donations – Gift cards, such as Target, Dave’s Supermarket, Giant Eagle, Walmart and Visa, help our residents have what they need to remain comfortable as they recover from their health conditions. Gift cards can be mailed or dropped off at Joseph’s Home, 2412 Community College Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115.

Engage – Engage with Joseph’s Home during the holidays and throughout the year by following and sharing our Facebook and Instagram posts to help spread the word of our success in helping our residents reach a healthy, self-sustaining life. Bring your friends to our Happy Hour January 30 at the Market Garden Brewery to support our effort and learn more about the mission and work of Joseph’s Home. Click HERE to purchase tickets. You can also volunteer throughout the holiday season by contacting Madeline Wallace at 216.897.9201.
