Joseph & Mary’s Home is pleased to announce that Anna Stormer has been named its next Executive Director. She began her role on Tuesday, March 10.
Stormer will over
see strategy, operations and program excellence at Joseph & Mary’s Home. Her focus will be on ensuring vulnerable neighbors have a safe place to recover, stabilize their health and move forward with dignity.
Prior to her arrival at Joseph & Mary’s Home, Stormer served as Vice President at a national financial institution building pathways out of poverty. Earlier in her career, she worked with individuals navigating housing instability and complex medical and behavioral health needs.
“Anna stood out as the perfect fit for the Joseph and Mary’s Home executive director role,” said Darlene Morocco, chair of the Joseph & Mary’s Home Board of Directors. “Her core values, rooted in Catholic tradition, and deep passion for serving our most vulnerable neighbors align beautifully with the heart of our mission.”
Morocco added, “Anna holds a diverse skill set in nonprofit strategy, leadership, funding, relationship building and programming. The Board is eager to work with her to continue strengthening the quality of care we provide to our residents, as well as enhancing the education and training we offer to our caregivers.”
“Approximately 2,000 individuals experience homelessness on any given night in Cuyahoga County,” said Stormer. “And far too many are discharged from medical care without a safe place to fully recover from illness or injury. Joseph & Mary’s Home exists to fill that gap by providing a dignified place to heal, regain stability and begin rebuilding their lives.
Stormer takes on her role just as Joseph & Mary’s Home begins its 26th year of service. The year 2026 is a significant one for the ministry, as the newly renovated Joseph’s Home, now located within the same building as Mary’s Home and made possible by the more than $3 million “A New Home for Healing” capital campaign, is open and accepting male residents.
“As Joseph & Mary’s Home enters its next chapter of service, I’m honored to steward the ministry’s work while strengthening partnerships with healthcare, housing and community providers,” said Stormer. “I look forward to working alongside the Joseph & Mary’s Home Board, the Sisters of Charity Health System and the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine to ensure the ministry continues serving our most vulnerable neighbors and adapts to evolving community needs.”
